KANSAS CITY, Mo. — March brings changes to the Farmers Market at the Kansas City Municipal Market.
The attraction is currently open on Saturdays and Sundays during the spring season. Weekends from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm daily.
The Market also added a new guest service booth for customers who need assistance or shoppers using SNAP benefits. The outlet storefront is located in the southeast corner of the City Market Square.
The market expects that in 2023 there will be more than 100 suppliers in this square.
Returning vendors include:
- Norm’s Fine Snacks
- McFarland’s Plants and Vegetables
- Sweet Delights Bakery
- Lavender Hill Farm
Among the new suppliers:
- KC Peniel Garden
- Mushroom Farm Ranger
- Beky Food (Venezuelan street food)
- Butterfly illustration Whisper of wings
Starting next month, a rotation of local artists will be located along Walnut Street every Sunday.
The glass doors are now closed due to the cold, allowing customers to comfortably shop in closed pavilions and walkways that are lightly heated.
Once the weather warms, the doors will open, turning the area into an outdoor market.
In May, customers will be able to taste and buy local wines and spirits. There will also be a new Flower Bazaar on Wednesday. Plants, bushes, vegetable crops and other options will be presented at the market. In May, the flower market will be open from 16.00 to 19.00 every Wednesday.
