DETROIT (AP) — Ford is recalling more than 1.5 million vehicles in the U.S. as part of two measures to fix leaking brake hoses and wiper arms that can break.

The larger of the two recalls covers nearly 1.3 million 2013-2018 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKX midsize vehicles. In documents released Friday by safety authorities, the company says front brake hoses can rupture and leak brake fluid. This will increase the stroke of the brake pedal and lengthen the braking distance.

Dealers will replace the hoses. Starting on April 17, Ford will send notification letters to owners. They will receive a second letter when repair parts are available.

Ford says it is aware of one accident with no mention of injuries due to the problem.

The second recall covers more than 222,000 2021 F-150 pickups. Wiper levers can break.

If necessary, dealers will replace the weapon. Owners will be notified from March 27.
