A phased proposal for new apartments in south Kansas City will bring the total number of planned residences near the Oracle Cerner Innovation Campus to more than 900.
Indianapolis-based Kittle Property Group Inc. recently filed final development plans for The Depot at Old Santa Fe, a 252-unit garden-style community.
The roughly $62 million project will be built on a wooded 31.5-acre site northwest of Old Santa Fe Road and 93rd Street, just east of the Kansas City South Railroad tracks from the Innovation Campus.
Kittle’s offering includes a mix of one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments in seven three-story buildings. The project will be served by 422 surface parking spaces and 42 garage spaces. Community amenities should include a fitness center, clubhouse with entertainment area, computer station, swimming pool, playground and pet park.
The Old Santa Fe Depot will be Kittle’s second local project after The Cottages at Bluebird Creek, a senior housing complex in Liberty.
The property developer and manager has built more than 20,000 apartments in 18 states, serving more than 35,000 people and representing more than $2.5 billion in investments since its founding in 1948.
