KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Current has announced it will use SeatGeek as its ticketing platform for all events at the team’s new stadium when it opens next year.
The team switched ticket providers to SeatGeek last season. Based on customer feedback, customers say the SeatGeek app is easy to use and they can easily resell or transfer tickets.
“As we prepare to move into the first purpose-built stadium for a women’s professional soccer team, we want the technology to match the fans in 2023 and serve our fans in 2024 and beyond,” said Allison Howard, current KC president. “We’ve had great feedback from our fans about the SeatGeek app and we’ll continue to develop this technology in our own app to enhance the matchmaking experience.”
SeatGeek will also be used for any concerts or other events held at the stadium in the future.
The Current also launched a new team app this year. The app provides fans with information about the team, statistics and games.
While the Current’s new home won’t open until next year, the stadium project will reach a major milestone this month.
Crews will begin erecting steel columns and pouring concrete, making the stadium’s foundation visible for the first time.
The Current opens the season at North Carolina against the Courage on March 25. The team’s home game is scheduled for April 1 at Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas.
